How Beilume Glow handles your data

Effective September 3, 2026 · Publisher: Chloe Ward · Applies to the Beilume Glow mobile app

GO · THE SHORT VERSION

  • Everything you make in Beilume Glow (rooms, scenes, cues, palettes, notes, schedules) is stored on your device.
  • There is no account, no sign-in, and no server run by us that receives your data.
  • We do not use analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking of any kind.
  • Photos are only read when you choose one, and only to pull colors from it.
  • Reset Everything in Settings erases all app data instantly and permanently.
CUE 1

What the app stores, and where

Beilume Glow is a planning tool for light and color. When you create a room, extract a palette, add cues to a scene, write a note, or set a schedule, that information is written to local storage on your phone or tablet. It never leaves the device through the app.

  • Rooms and their names
  • Scenes, including each cue's color values (hex, RGB, HSL), computed luminance, and blends
  • Notes you attach to scenes
  • Schedules: the time you choose and the part of day the app derives from it
  • Colors extracted from your photos

If your device backs up app data through your operating system (for example iCloud or Google backups), that backup is governed by Apple's or Google's terms, not by this policy.

Photos and the camera

The Photo Palette screen asks for camera access when you take a picture and photo library access when you pick an existing one. Both permissions are optional and requested only at the moment you use the feature.

The image is processed on the device to extract colors. Beilume Glow does not upload photos, does not scan your library in the background, and does not read photo metadata such as location. The app keeps the extracted color values; it does not need to keep the photo itself beyond your current session, and any cached copy is cleared by Reset Everything.

You can revoke camera or photo permissions at any time in your device settings. The rest of the app keeps working; you simply enter colors by hand instead.

Schedules and notifications

When you schedule a scene, the app stores the time locally and uses your device's clock to run it precisely. If you allow notifications, reminders are scheduled locally on the device. No push notification service or remote server is involved, and we do not receive a record of when scenes run.

What we do not collect

Beilume Glow has no analytics, crash-reporting, advertising, or fingerprinting libraries. We do not collect your name, email address, contacts, location, device identifiers, usage statistics, or the content of your scenes. Because there is no account, there is no profile of you anywhere on our side.

The only time we learn anything about you is when you choose to email us, and then we only have what you send.

NEVER
CUE 5

Third parties

We do not sell, share, or transfer data to third parties, because the app does not send us any. The app store you downloaded Beilume Glow from (Apple App Store or Google Play) may collect download and purchase information under its own privacy policy. Your device's operating system may also handle backups and permissions as described above.

NEVER
CUE 6

Deleting your data

You are in full control. Delete a single scene from the gallery, delete a room to remove its scenes, or open Settings and choose Reset Everything to erase all rooms, scenes, palettes, notes, and schedules at once. Uninstalling the app also removes its local data. Because we hold no copy, there is nothing further to request from us.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port personal data. Beilume Glow keeps all of that data on your device, so you can exercise these rights directly in the app. If you have a question about how a right applies, email us and we will respond within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of the app changes how data is handled, for example by adding optional sync, we will update this page, change the effective date at the top, and describe the change in the app's release notes before it applies. Continued use after the new date means you accept the revised policy.
